Berryz Koubou Alo-Hello! Dual Subtitles/Dual Audio Release

By: Incredible He-Hulk

Once in a great while, we are privileged to experience an event so extraordinary, it becomes part of our shared heritage.

1969: Man walks on the moon.

1971: Man walks on the moon... again.

Then, for a long time, nothing happened...

Until tonight.

While Berryz Koubou's first trip to Hawaii is certainly an important moment in their career as idols, that isn't what I'm referring to. What I'm talking about is this subtitled release. The following is an exercise in pure grandiloquence, so if young children are present, please ask them to leave the room.
What you are on the verge of downloading is the boldest task ever attempted in H!P fansubbing. And, what it has wrought is the most complete, accurate, erudite, evocative, felicitous, and assiduous piece of work you will find...

1) Dual-Subtitles, Dual-Audio. That's right. Not one translation but two. The Japanese Berryz Alo-Hello DVD comes with 91 minutes and 44 seconds of adventure, and you get all of that translated. But, it also comes with 91 minutes and 44 seconds of DVD commentary about that adventure done by the girls themselves, and now you get that translated, too. Hear the post-game press conference. Know what the girls think about their saga after the fact. Hear the secrets of production. Laugh and cry as the girls laugh and cry while they watch themselves laugh and cry. In essence, be a great fan.

2) Every little bit of dialogue has been translated. If a girl says something, you'll know what she said; On both audio tracks.
Nothing a girl said was ever deemed arbitrary or unnecessary. Everything was deemed to be both vital and apposite.
In full, the translation is over 6000 lines of text. That makes our Alo-Hello release nearly twice as long as Macbeth...
Never before have you come this close to being on the same footing as a H!P fan who speaks fluent Japanese.

3) Every single bit of on-screen text has been translated; not just translated, but painstakingly crafted so that it blends with the DVD's own style of presentation as much as possible. If Japanese text scrolls across the screen, so does our translation. If it fades in and fades out, so does ours. Color, style, texture, it doesn't matter; We're right there with you, H!P. A place for everything and everything in it's place.

4) If something was confusing at first, we never just decided we were close enough to what a girl said and moved on. A translation was never deemed good enough until it was as right as we could possibly get it. If something didn't make sense, or seemed odd, we worked on it until we figured it out and could make it clear as crystal.
And, best of all, through painstaking research, every single reference a girl makes to some random event in H!P's past, every joke a girl makes referencing Japanese popular culture, and every other thing that could possibly need explanation is indeed explained to you through the magic of Editor's Notes!

Over the next 3+ hours, you aren't just on the same footing as a Japanese Wota, you are on the same level as the hardest of the hardcore Japanese Wota. The kind of fan who knows everything that Momoko and Risako said on their radio show 2 years ago. The kind of fan who has been to every single fanclub event, to every single concert.
While watching this, you will be the uberfan. Connected directly to the fan hivemind; You know all and see all.

Enjoy!
